Job Title: Production Intern
Opportunity Overview:
This is a hands-on, apprenticeship-like opportunity designed for individuals to learn various aspects of the Production and Maintenance Department. Interns will gain exposure to the manufacturing areas within the company, specifically the press and bindery operations.
Compensation:
This is a paid internship, offering a competitive wage of $18/hour.
Work Schedule:
The position is primarily part-time, offering flexible hours and shifts to accommodate class schedules. Full-time hours are available during school breaks and vacations, providing additional learning and earning opportunities.
Training and Development:
Training for this role is highly hands-on, with significant support provided by dedicated mentors. The focus of the internship is to help the intern develop essential skills that could lead to a potential career in the field.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Shadowing and Troubleshooting: Interns will shadow press and bindery technicians to learn and assist with troubleshooting mechanical and electronic problems on equipment.
• Day-to-Day Operations: Learn and actively perform the daily tasks involved in the printing and binding of the company’s publications.
• Equipment Maintenance: Participate in and perform scheduled maintenance of the production equipment.
