Join Figma’s Rapid Research team as one of our Product Research interns and play a key role in shaping the future of our products.

This internship presents a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with the research team and other departments within the organization, contributing to the entire research process from planning to synthesis and communicating insights. As an intern, you will participate in multiple projects, gain hands-on experience, and make a tangible impact on Figma’s products. You’ll be paired with a mentor who will provide one-on-one guidance, ensuring your internship is as valuable as possible.

What you’ll do at Figma:

• Conduct research projects, including surveys, in-depth interviews, concept/prototype testing, and more, with the support of your research mentor.
• Synthesize research findings into actionable recommendations.
• Present research insights to cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Design, Engineering, Data Analytics, and Marketing.
• Contribute to the growth of the research team by building more streamlined processes.
• Gain exposure to working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment with a highly collaborative culture.
• Complete 2-3 horizontal projects during the internship, ensuring a diverse and comprehensive experience.
• Grow and have fun!

Some projects you could work on:

• Support the research and design teams for quick sprint-related UX research work.
• Develop compelling research findings with clear recommendations.
• Help evangelize and test new UX tooling and assist with onboarding and/or research training exercises.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

• Active enrollment in a graduate program (masters or PhD) in a related field.
• A strong understanding of how to frame a research study around a clear business/product problem, either through coursework, past internships, or other experiences.
• Experience in mixed methods research, including qualitative methods (e.g., interviews, unmoderated/moderated) and quantitative methods (e.g., surveys, data analysis).
• Basic research, design, and product development practices.
• Experience advocating for users and bringing their perspectives to life through clear written and verbal communication.
• An eagerness to learn and a track record for being self-driven.

While it’s not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:

• Experience in a major tech company or strategic consultancy in digital experience.
• Familiarity with advanced usability testing tools and software.
• Design skills, including basic designing and prototyping.
• Experience with Figma and FigJam.

At Figma, we believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
