Job Title: Product Research Intern (Rapid Research Team)

Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity to join Figma’s Rapid Research team as a Product Research Intern. You will play a key role in shaping the future of Figma’s products by contributing to the entire research process, from planning to synthesis and communicating insights. As an intern, you will work on multiple projects, gaining hands-on experience and making a tangible impact. You will be paired with a dedicated mentor who will provide one-on-one guidance to maximize your internship experience.

Location:
This internship will be based out of Figma’s San Francisco hub office.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities):
Conduct Research Projects: Execute various research studies, including surveys, in-depth interviews, concept/prototype testing, and more, with the support and guidance of your research mentor.
Synthesize Findings: Transform research data into clear, actionable recommendations.
Present Insights: Communicate research findings and insights effectively to diverse cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Design, Engineering, Data Analytics, and Marketing.
Process Improvement: Contribute to the growth and efficiency of the research team by helping to build more streamlined processes.
Cross-functional Exposure: Gain valuable experience working collaboratively across different functions in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
Diverse Experience: Complete 2-3 horizontal projects throughout the internship to ensure a broad and comprehensive learning experience.
Growth & Enjoyment: Focus on continuous learning and contribute to a fun and engaging work environment.

Potential Projects You Could Work On:
• Provide research and design teams with quick UX research support for sprint-related tasks.
• Develop compelling research findings accompanied by clear and actionable recommendations.
• Assist in evangelizing and testing new UX tooling, along with contributing to onboarding and/or research training exercises.

We’d Love to Hear From You If You Have (Required Qualifications):
Research Framing: A strong understanding of how to frame a research study around a clear business/product problem, demonstrated through coursework, past internships, or other relevant experiences.
Mixed Methods Experience: Practical experience in mixed methods research, encompassing both qualitative approaches (e.g., interviews, unmoderated/moderated studies) and quantitative methods (e.g., surveys, data analysis).
Foundational Knowledge: Basic understanding of research, design, and product development practices.
User Advocacy: Experience advocating for users and effectively bringing their perspectives to life through clear written and verbal communication.
Learning & Drive: An eagerness to learn and a proven track record of being self-driven.

Added Plus (Preferred Qualifications):
Tech/Consultancy Experience: Prior experience in a major technology company or strategic consultancy firm focused on digital experiences.
Usability Tools: Familiarity with advanced usability testing tools and software.
Design Skills: Basic design and prototyping abilities.
Figma/FigJam Experience: Prior experience using Figma and FigJam.

Compensation:
The hourly base pay rate for this internship is $43.85 USD. Figma also offers interns a housing stipend and travel reimbursement.
