Product Manager Intern

About Tapestry

Tapestry is Alphabet’s moonshot for the electric grid, operating at the critical frontier where energy’s complexity meets AI’s transformative potential. Our origins trace back to X, Alphabet’s renowned innovation lab responsible for groundbreaking technologies like Waymo, Verily, and Google Brain.

To effectively meet humanity’s ever-growing energy demands, the world urgently requires an electricity grid that is not only visible but also inherently understandable. Tapestry delivers this essential clarity by developing advanced, AI-enabled analytical and planning tools. These tools empower the entire energy ecosystem to plan smarter, move faster, and operate more efficiently, thereby ensuring electricity remains both reliable and affordable for everyone.

This is a truly global endeavor. Tapestry is proud to support key partners across the U.S., U.K., Chile, New Zealand, Australia, and Brazil as they collaboratively build a cleaner, more resilient energy future. Joining Tapestry means doing the best work of your life as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team of experts spanning AI, energy systems, software engineering, and product design—all united in reshaping energy on a global scale. If you are driven to tackle problems that truly matter and build tools with significant real-world impact, we warmly invite you to connect with us.

About The Role

As a Product Manager Intern at Tapestry, you will be an active participant in a 12-week internship program specifically designed to define and shape innovative software solutions that support modern grid distribution planning.

During this immersive internship, you will be given ownership of a clearly scoped product area and will contribute meaningfully to the end-to-end product lifecycle. You’ll engage in close collaboration with engineering, AI/ML, and design partners, translating critical user needs and insightful market data into precise product requirements that guide execution.

This role is crafted to provide invaluable hands-on product management experience while enabling you to deliver meaningful, real-world impact within a defined internship timeframe.

How You Will Make 10X Impact

  • Conduct structured market and user research to identify unmet needs and compelling product opportunities.
  • Translate insights gathered into clear product requirements, user stories, and measurable success metrics.
  • Prioritize features and enhancements strategically based on anticipated impact, technical feasibility, and ultimate customer value.
  • Partner closely with engineering, AI/ML, and design teams throughout the execution phase of product development.
  • Support critical product decisions with clear documentation and data-backed recommendations.

What You Should Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related technical field.
  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s program (MBA, MS, or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into structured, actionable outputs.
  • Demonstrated interest in technology-driven products, infrastructure, or energy systems.

It’d be great if you also had one or more of these:

  • Energy domain knowledge or experience in distribution power systems.
  • A track record of delivering scalable solutions to complex software problems.
  • Experience in AI/ML product development.
  • Experience in startup or high-growth environments.
  • Experience working with enterprise customers.

Our values

  • Take charge: We take initiative and own outcomes that move the mission forward.
  • Transform with purpose: We build solutions that solve real problems and create meaningful impact.
  • Be a Tapestry, not a thread: We collaborate across diverse skills and perspectives to achieve more than we can individually.
  • Always fine-tune: We stay curious, seek feedback, and refine our understanding as we learn.
  • Stay grounded: We listen openly, value different perspectives, and stay focused on what matters most.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • A vibrant culture that supports growth, ownership, and meaningful impact, along with:
    • Immersion in a world-class research environment at the cutting edge of AI and climate tech.
    • Competitive residency stipend and housing relocation support for the entire duration of the program.
    • Direct mentorship from industry-leading research scientists and engineers.
    • The invaluable opportunity to work on “moonshot” problems with access to Alphabet-scale compute and resources.
