Product Management Intern

Brief Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and data-driven Product Management Intern to support our team in analyzing portfolio and customer performance, including developing scalable analysis and reporting tools. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual interested in the intersection of product management, commercial strategy, and sales execution within a dynamic environment.

The intern will work closely with our Product Management, Sales/Program Management, and Operations teams to critically evaluate:

  1. How customers are performing against contractual commitments, including agreed-upon volumes, pricing tiers, and growth targets.
  2. How we can strategically improve our overall portfolio performance from both a margin and growth perspective.

Utilizing our ERP system and other internal tools, this individual will be instrumental in building a repeatable tracking and reporting mechanism. This mechanism aims to create transparency, trigger proactive customer communication, and ultimately drive tangible business results across our customer accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Data Analysis & Research: Support the Product Management team by conducting thorough research, performing complex data analytics, and providing insightful assessments to inform strategic decisions.
  • Monitor Product Performance: Help track, analyze, and report on key product performance metrics to various internal stakeholders, providing actionable insights.
  • Participate in Cross-functional Collaboration: Actively participate in cross-functional meetings with Sales, Program Management, and Operations teams, contributing to collaborative decision-making.
  • Prepare Documentation & Reports: Develop and prepare comprehensive documentation and reports essential for supporting strategic planning and informed decision-making processes.
  • Extract & Validate Commercial Data: Extract, validate, and meticulously analyze commercial data from the ERP system and other internal tools to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Build & Maintain Contract Performance Models: Develop and maintain a robust contract performance tracking model, encompassing critical metrics such as volumes, forecast adherence, pricing thresholds, and target achievement.
  • Develop Performance Dashboards: Create intuitive and informative dashboards that visually represent customer progress relative to their contractual commitments.
  • Identify Performance Gaps & Risks: Proactively identify performance gaps or commercial risks on a per-customer basis, highlighting areas for improvement or intervention.
  • Ensure Data Accuracy & Alignment: Partner effectively with internal teams to ensure data accuracy and foster alignment on contract execution strategies.
  • Conduct Ad-hoc Analyses: Assist with ad-hoc analyses related to product portfolio performance, pricing strategies, and market trends as required to support business needs.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Supply Chain, Economics, or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of 3 semesters already completed is required.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is essential.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, Business Intelligence (BI) tools, or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems is a significant plus.
  • Familiarity with AI tools is preferred, demonstrating an interest in innovative analytical approaches.
