Job Description: Product Licensing and Buying Internship (Multiple Areas)

This is a paid, full-time undergraduate internship (industrial placement year) lasting from June 2025 to Autumn 2026, requiring 4 days a week on-site. The internship offers several specializations within the consumer products team, covering merchandising, store operations, imports, and creative aspects. Applicants will be considered for one of the following areas, and should specify their preference in their cover letter:

Publishing: This involves working directly with licensees on Disney books and magazines. Responsibilities include product approvals, supporting marketing and PR plans, analyzing data and market trends, and developing presentation and organizational skills.

Site Merchandising: This focuses on the e-commerce side, supporting the online store’s planning and trading. Responsibilities include product uploading, data review, and developing skills in accuracy, planning, organization, and communication.

Disney Home: This area involves working on new product launches within the homewares sector across the EMEA region. Responsibilities encompass supporting marketing and PR campaigns, contributing to finance and reporting, and honing communication and independent research skills.

Disney Store: This involves assisting the buying team in delivering consumer products, from initial competitor research to launching products in flagship stores and online. Responsibilities include developing buying skills, commercial retail knowledge, data analysis, and presentation skills, and building relationships across the global Disney business.

General Responsibilities (across all areas):

All internship roles will provide experience in commercial and creative thinking, offering a behind-the-scenes look at creating Disney products. Tasks may include assisting with licensing partnerships, assessing samples, managing product catalogs, and analyzing market trends. Interns will develop professional skills in areas such as communication, organization, data analysis, and presentation.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Second-year undergraduate student on an industrial placement year course, returning to studies in Autumn 2026.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Full-time availability from June 2025.
• Genuine interest in the chosen internship area.

Required Skills and Qualities:

• Strong interest in Buying, Merchandising, E-commerce, Retail, or Consumer Products.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle administrative duties.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Demonstrated potential in building relationships, communicating effectively, driving results, thinking strategically, inspiring creativity and innovation, and exhibiting professional excellence.
