Job Description: Product Development Engineering Intern – 2025 Summer Internship Program
Location: Nashua, NH
Amphenol High Speed Products Group, a market leader in high-speed, high-bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.), is seeking a Product Development Engineering Intern. This role is based in Nashua, NH, at their global headquarters.
Responsibilities: The intern will support one or more NPI Product Engineers in their daily tasks. This includes:
• Gaining experience in: Tolerance analysis (incorporating GDT and Six Sigma techniques); Failure analysis investigation techniques (using mechanical sectioning, SEM, and CT scan analysis); Quality/defect analysis and risk assessment; Product design improvement and product derivative design/validation; Application testing, cost analysis, and value engineering; Product documentation and Technical paper (TB) creation/revision; and Coordination with internal and external business partners.
• Introduction to: High-speed precision stamping, thermoplastic molding design and processes, and high-speed electroplating processes.
Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior year of undergraduate studies or graduate-level degree in Mechanical Engineering (and related focus disciplines), Industrial Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with machining and fixture design.
• Proficiency in solid modeling tools (Pro/E); FEA tools are a plus.
• Excellent communication skills (technical & non-technical audiences).
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
