About the Product Design Intern Role:

We are seeking a talented Product Design Intern to join our team and contribute to the creation of intuitive and engaging digital experiences. As an intern, you will work closely with our product managers and developers, gaining hands-on experience in conducting user research, usability testing, and advocating for innovative design solutions.

Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for design and a strong understanding of the latest trends in the healthcare/medical device industry. You should be a creative problem solver with a keen eye for detail and the ability to translate user needs into effective design solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in conducting user research and usability testing to gather insights and feedback.
• Create user flows, wireframes, and prototypes based on research findings.
• Collaborate with team members to translate user needs and business goals into effective design solutions.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas to improve user experiences.
• Help create and maintain design documentation, style guides, and design systems.
• Assist in conducting competitive analysis and staying updated with industry trends and best practices.
• Provide support in preparing presentations and design mock-ups for stakeholders.
• Learn and apply UX/UI design principles and methodologies to real-world projects.

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field.
• A portfolio showcasing design projects or coursework (required).
• Basic understanding of UX/UI design principles and methodologies.
• Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate design concepts and rationale to cross-functional teams.
• Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail and visual aesthetics.
• Basic knowledge of user research methods and usability testing.
• Enthusiastic about learning and applying new skills in a practical setting.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience with prototyping tools and techniques.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and basic front-end development principles.
• Understanding of accessibility standards and best practices.
• Experience with design systems and style guides.
• Basic knowledge of data analysis and how it informs design decisions.

This is a one-year PAID full-time on-site position at our office located in Cerritos, CA, reporting to the Manager, Software Integrations & Development.
