US Foods Summer Internship Program

The US Foods Summer Internship Program provides a forum for students to apply classroom skills and academic training in a real-world business environment. Interns will be assigned business-impacting projects, receive regular feedback from a manager and mentor, and gain exposure to US Foods executive leadership.

Program Highlights:

• Full-time paid positions (40 hours per week from June – August)

Product Analytics Intern – Description

Basic Purpose:

This internship provides exposure and opportunity to investigate a career in product analytics within the food distribution industry. You will gain business knowledge and practical application of your skills under direct supervision and oversight.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product owners, product managers, and business users: Understand requirements and product enhancement opportunities.
• Create requirements documentation and user stories: Outline desired processes and specifications.
• Participate in Agile team meetings and ceremonies: Contribute to daily and weekly discussions.
• Work with development teams: Translate requirements into feasible technical designs.
• Interact with the user experience lead: Discover the process of developing wireframe designs.
• Collaborate with the testing team: Ensure requirements are implemented per specifications and troubleshoot issues.
• Attend meetings to plan the deployment of tools.

Basic Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems/Science or related area of study.
• Must be enrolled in school during the internship period.
• Typically, students between their Junior and Senior years or between their 1st and 2nd years of graduate school will be considered.
• Experience with business process optimization and/or gathering business requirements.
• Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Exposure to the Agile methodology.

Additional Requirements:

• Must have a regular, reliable method of transportation to commute to US Foods’ location.
