Product & Aftermarket Support Development Associate | Komatsu

The Tone:
This is an early career development program at Komatsu, located in Chicago, IL. Komatsu develops and supplies technologies, equipment, and services for the construction, mining, forklift, industrial, and forestry markets globally. This role is a crucial opportunity to assimilate into Komatsu’s culture and make significant contributions during a structured rotation program, ultimately preparing the candidate for a full-time placement in one of the company’s core Product and Aftermarket Support areas.

• Mission: Participate in a 36-month rotation program to prepare for a full-time placement in key business areas within Product and Aftermarket Support.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Participate in a structured 36-month rotation program to immerse in Komatsu’s culture and contribute to the Product and Aftermarket Support Division.
• Prepare for full-time placement into core business areas such as Marketing Engineering, Product Marketing, Intelligent Machine Control (iMC), Product Technical Support, Quality Engineering, or A.I. Artificial intelligence Systems / Development.
• Potentially relocate to manufacturing plants or distributor locations within the US for short periods to gain exposure to critical business operations, with a focus on vendor recovery.
• Apply academic background and engineering knowledge to real business world experiences and challenges.
• Make important contributions to Komatsu’s business objectives and drive results throughout the intensive development program.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Mining Engineering, Agricultural Mechanization, or Technical Systems Management from an accredited college/university. Entry-level.
• Experience: Recently graduated or graduating engineering student. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0+.
• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communications, CAD experience (preferably ProE/Creo), high proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Pivot Tables, Vlookups, and other reporting tools), strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Bonus: Prior experience with work study programs, school or volunteer leadership roles, team or club participation, or professional organizations. Prior internship with a heavy equipment or automotive manufacturer. Proven or completed software development projects.
