Position: Procurement Intern

Position Overview:

Embark on a dynamic and hands-on journey as a Procurement Intern within our team at Progressive. This isn’t an internship focused on menial tasks; rather, you will be immersed in the core operations of our Procurement and Sourcing functions, gaining valuable real-world experience. You will develop a foundational understanding of Progressive’s comprehensive Purchase to Pay Process and delve into the critical area of Category/Commodity Management.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully while expanding your professional network. You will engage directly with various business stakeholders and collaborate with seasoned sourcing professionals, building crucial relationships across the organization. Key responsibilities will include the creation and in-depth analysis of data, transforming raw information into actionable insights. Furthermore, you will have the chance to hone your presentation skills by sharing your findings and learnings with both your team members and company leaders.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and relationship building with diverse stakeholders.
  • A high school diploma/GED equivalent or higher, actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:
    • Communication
    • Sales
    • Actuarial Science
    • Management Information Systems (MIS)
    • Risk Management
    • Human Resources (HR)
    • Accountancy
    • Management
    • Media Studies
    • Or any field of study that will enable you to meet the minimum requirements for a full-time role within 12 months of successful completion of this internship.
  • Proficiency in listening, verbal, and written communication skills, crucial for effective team collaboration and presenting insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a detailed-oriented and organized environment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • An inherent ability to be adaptable, embracing new challenges and evolving priorities, coupled with a strong sense of intellectual curiosity to continuously learn and explore.

Compensation:

This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $23.50 / hr.
