A Taste of What You’ll Do (Internship Overview)

Join our intensive 6-month Process Technology Development Internship Program for Engineers and gain unparalleled hands-on experience within our innovative department. During this program, you will work closely with operations, winemaking, engineering, and operators on cutting-edge technology projects, with a significant focus during the crucial harvest season. You will play a vital role in the success of our projects, actively developing your problem-solving and teamwork skills, and significantly contributing to technology development initiatives. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and scale-up of new technologies for the Winery.
  • Participate actively in technology projects and assist in managing a portion of an ongoing development project.
  • Gather and analyze technical and cost data to determine feasibility.
  • Evaluate and present test results for possible application to the development of systems or other uses.
  • Update standards, policies, specifications, and procedures as assigned.
  • Monitor and ensure achievement of project goals, objectives, and timelines.
  • Solve technical problems and issues.
  • Communicate project status effectively.

What You’ll Need (Required Qualifications)

  • Currently enrolled at a college or university and working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s, or Ph.D degree in the School of Engineering; OR have obtained a Bachelor’s or Master’s, or Ph.D degree in the School of Engineering.
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record, and a reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, the candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Available for the entire duration of this internship program – July to December 2026.
  • Required to lift and move up to 40 lbs when necessary.
  • Required to work at heights of 50 feet, on tops of tanks, inspecting wine surfaces when necessary.
  • Requires availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Required to be 18 years or older.

How You’ll Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Junior or Senior class standing at a college or university and working towards a Bachelor’s degree in the School of Engineering.
  • Strong applied technical skills and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and team skills and experience managing multiple assignments.
  • Comfortable in a manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical inclination and an aptitude for design of equipment and manufacturing processes.

  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. In addition to the salary, this position may be eligible for bonuses, incentive plans, or participate in tasting room tip pools, as applicable.
  • This position will be based in the location(s) specified in the job posting and requires working on-site with no telecommuting option. You will be expected to live within a commutable distance.
