About the Role:
This internship provides a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in private equity, specifically focusing on the critical areas of sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities. As an intern, you will collaborate closely with the senior business development team to actively engage with boutique investment banks and M&A advisors across the country. You will also be responsible for managing the firm’s CRM system. This role is ideally suited for highly motivated students who are eager to gain meaningful exposure to the private equity world within a dynamic and collaborative setting.
Responsibilities:
• Source and evaluate new investment opportunities: Conduct research and analysis to identify potential investment targets that align with the firm’s investment criteria.
• Proactively outreach to and engage with intermediaries across the middle market: Connect with investment banks and M&A advisors to build relationships and identify deal flow.
• Maintain and manage the firm’s CRM, including pipeline tracking and data updates: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of information within the CRM system, tracking deal progress and maintaining data integrity.
• Support sector research, market mapping, and building top of deal funnel: Assist in conducting industry research, mapping out market landscapes, and building the initial stages of the deal pipeline.
• Coordinate conferences and meetings with key industry contacts: Help organize and manage logistics for conferences and meetings, facilitating interactions with important industry professionals.
Qualifications:
• Current undergraduate student with a strong interest in the investment banking and private equity ecosystem.
• Personable and articulate: Possess excellent communication skills, enabling effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical thinking: Demonstrate the ability to analyze information, draw conclusions, and make informed recommendations.
• Polished writing skills: Possess the ability to create clear, concise, and professional written materials.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organization: Exhibit a meticulous approach to tasks and demonstrate strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint: Demonstrate strong skills in using Excel for data analysis and PowerPoint for creating presentations.
• Self-starter: Proactive and independent, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior internship experience in investment banking, private equity, or related fields strongly preferred: Previous experience in a related field is highly desirable.
