About BBH Cedar Street Equity (BBH CSE)

BBH Cedar Street Equity is the Private Equity group focused on Co-Investments within Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. BBH CSE has over 30 years of successful private equity investing experience, having successfully managed multiple funds through economic cycles. BBH CSE primarily invests in lower-to-middle market companies alongside private equity fund managers through traditional co-investments and recapitalizations. The team also makes opportunistic investments in private equity funds and secondary transactions.

BBH CSE’s investment strategy creates diversification across fund managers, industries, geographies, business models, and companies of different sizes to achieve strong risk-adjusted returns and mitigate downside risk. The BBH CSE team has worked together for a decade and compiled a successful and extensive track record of private equity investments across a wide array of industries, including (but not limited to) healthcare services, business services, media, software / hardware, industrial services, and financial services. The team is currently investing out of its first comingled CSE Fund on the BBH platform.

Private Equity Analyst Summer Intern – BBH Cedar Street Equity

BBH Cedar Street Equity is seeking exceptional undergraduate college or university student candidates of the Class of 2026 with strong academic track records, a demonstrated interest in finance, and outstanding organizational, communication, and team skills. Prior internships in Private Equity, Investment Banking/M&A are a plus, but not required.

Key Responsibilities

BBH CSE Analysts are actively involved in all aspects of the investment process from deal sourcing to investment diligence and research, transaction structuring and closing, portfolio monitoring and support, and exit. Day-to-day responsibilities can include:

• Conducting industry research to develop and test investment theses
• Conducting due diligence on live investment opportunities
• Working with financial models, analyzing scenarios with different capital structures and operating performance and acquisition assumptions
• Developing presentation materials summarizing investment perspectives for investment committee review or approval
• Assisting with portfolio company performance monitoring

In BBH CSE’s consensus-driven culture, all team members – including Interns and Analysts – are asked to share their perspectives on new investments with the entire BBH CSE team. In select cases, they will also have the opportunity to interact with other third-party fund managers, company management teams, and other stakeholders.
