At Bending Spoons, we are dedicated to building one of the all-time great companies. Our vision encompasses serving a vast customer base, fostering the full potential of our team members, operating with unparalleled effectiveness and efficiency, creating extraordinary value for shareholders, and upholding high ethical standards.
Our strategy involves acquiring digital businesses with untapped potential and maximizing their success by leveraging our comprehensive platform. This platform is built upon our collective expertise, advanced technologies, rich data, strong brand, exceptional talent, and unique company culture. If you are currently studying or completing a legal traineeship, please do not hesitate to apply. Should you successfully navigate our selection process, we are flexible and happy to wait until your studies or traineeship are completed.

A Few Examples Of Your Responsibilities
- Strategic Privacy Advising: Partner with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Security, to offer strategic privacy advice, integrate privacy-by-design principles, and translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, technical solutions.
- Proactive Risk Management: Identify privacy risks and opportunities proactively, contributing to the early development of privacy-compliant tools, features, and workflows, and championing continuous improvement in data protection practices.
- Comprehensive Legal Work: Manage all privacy-related legal work. This includes drafting and reviewing essential documents such as Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), privacy policies, Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs), and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), all to ensure strict compliance with relevant data protection regulations.

- Regulatory Monitoring: Continuously monitor evolving privacy regulations, relevant case law, and industry best practices. Communicate pertinent insights internally to ensure ongoing compliance and strategic alignment within the company.
What We Look For
- Reasoning Ability: You possess the capacity to solve complex problems given the necessary knowledge. You think from first principles, structure your ideas clearly, resist the influence of biases, and meticulously identify and address critical details.
- Drive: You are exceptionally ambitious in all your endeavors, matching the intensity of your ambition with equivalent initiative, effort, and tenacity. You feel a deep sense of responsibility for your work and consistently hold yourself to a high and ever-rising standard.
- Team Spirit: You contribute generously without expectation of immediate return. You advocate for the best ideas, regardless of their origin. You are always willing to get hands-on to support your team, embodying reliability, honesty, and transparency.
- Proficiency in English: You are proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
What We Offer
- Incredibly Talented, Entrepreneurial Teams: You will collaborate within small, results-oriented, autonomous teams, alongside some of the brightest individuals in your field.
- Exceptional Opportunity for Growth: We go to great lengths to recruit individuals with outstanding potential, then prioritize placing them in positions where they can truly thrive. It is common for “Spooners” in their 20s to lead products valued at hundreds of millions of dollars. If you demonstrate the necessary aptitude, you will soon play an essential role in major projects.

Benefits: Enjoy flexible hours, remote working options, unlimited support for learning and training, top-of-the-market health insurance, a generous relocation package, comprehensive parental support, and an annual retreat to a stunning location. We are committed to helping each Spooner establish the optimal conditions for their best work.
Commitment & Contract
Permanent or fixed-term. Full-time.
Location

The Selection Process
Our screening process prioritizes verifiable signals of excellence, irrespective of seniority. We encourage applicants not to self-reject due to perceived lack of experience or an “imperfect” CV; if you are passionate about the role and believe you can excel over time, we want to hear from you.
If you pass our initial screening, you will be invited to complete one or more tests. These tests are challenging, may involve unfamiliar problems, and can require several hours to complete.
We maintain a high bar and will only extend an offer when we are fully confident we have identified the right candidate. This rigorous approach explains why a job may remain open for months or be reposted multiple times.
Bending Spoons considers all applicants for employment and provides reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities; please inform us of any specific needs.
Important Considerations Before You Apply
- If you have previously applied and did not receive an offer, we recommend waiting at least one year before reapplying.
- Bending Spoons is a demanding environment. We are extremely ambitious and hold ourselves—and one another—to exceptionally high standards. While this fosters extraordinary learning, achievement, and career growth, it also requires significant commitment.
- To facilitate a quick ramp-up and set you up for success, we highly recommend spending your first few months working from our Milan office, regardless of your long-term work location. This is the most effective way to rapidly absorb our company culture and build trust with your new teammates. We will provide generous travel and accommodation assistance to support this.
- After this initial period, you are welcome to work from our offices in Milan or London, or remotely from approved countries—as agreed upon at the offer stage.
If this role resonates with you and you are eager to contribute your best, we eagerly await your application. Apply now—we can’t wait to meet you.
