Vice President, Investment Banking | Fifth Third Bank

This is a full-time leadership role at Fifth Third Bank, located in Cleveland, Ohio. • Mission: Lead M&A and Strategic Advisory engagements while developing junior talent and advancing the group’s analytical capabilities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead the pitching and execution of M&A and Strategic Advisory engagements, ensuring high-impact materials and seamless process management, including client and buyer interactions.
• Support the Senior Managing Director by overseeing day-to-day management of Investment Banking Associates and Analysts, ensuring optimal resource allocation and focus on high-priority projects.
• Drive the evolution and development of the group’s financial modeling and analytical capabilities, taking responsibility for the creation and delivery of high-quality analysis.
• Serve as the primary point person for creating comprehensive pitch materials and managing the entire execution process for M&A and Strategic Advisory assignments, from financial models to client communication.
• Conduct complex financial analysis and evaluate sophisticated financial models, applying a strong background in credit and corporate finance to support various Investment Banking projects.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics is required. This is a leadership role focused on investment banking, credit, and corporate finance, with a strong preference for candidates holding an MBA.
• Experience: Requires 7 to 10 years of direct experience in M&A Investment Banking. Candidates must have a proven track record of successfully originating, pitching, winning, and closing complex financial transactions as part of a team, and demonstrating the ability to interact independently with key constituencies.
• Skills: Possess strong corporate finance and credit skills, coupled with excellent oral and written presentation abilities. Must demonstrate the capacity to understand and evaluate complex financial models and effectively manage multiple high-priority opportunities simultaneously. Strong relationship building skills and the ability to interact effectively with senior executives are also essential.
• Bonus: An MBA is strongly preferred. Expertise in one or more specific industries is also a valuable asset for this role.
