Vice President, Investment Banking | Fifth Third Bank

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Fifth Third Bank, located in Cleveland, Ohio. Fifth Third Bank connects great people to great opportunities, offering a career in banking. • Team: Supports the Investment Banking Sr. Managing Director and directly supervises IB Associates and Analysts.
• Mission: To lead M&A and Strategic Advisory engagements, develop junior talent, and ensure the creation and delivery of high-quality analytical work.
• Tech Stack: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, other relevant software programs.

What You’ll Actually Do
Leadership: Provide leadership in the pitching and execution of M&A and Strategic Advisory engagements.
Team Management: Support the Sr. Managing Director in the day-to-day management of Investment Banking Associates and Analysts, ensuring appropriate resource allocation and project focus.
Analytical Development: Play a leadership role in the evolution and development of the group’s modeling and analytical capabilities, ensuring high-quality outputs.
Engagement Execution: Serve as the primary point person for creating high-impact pitch materials and running the execution process for M&A and Strategic Advisory assignments.
Client Interaction: Interact independently with all important constituencies during the course of executing M&A or Strategic Advisory assignments.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, coupled with a strong background in corporate finance and credit.
• Experience: 7-10 years of experience in M&A Investment Banking with a proven track record of pitching, winning, and executing complex financial transactions.
• Skills: Excellent oral and written presentation skills, strong relationship building abilities, the capacity to interact effectively with senior executives, expertise in one or more industries, and the ability to understand and evaluate complex financial models. Required licenses include the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 79, and Series 63.
• Bonus: A Master of Business Administration (MBA) is strongly preferred.
