Pharmacy Pre-Grad Intern | Walmart
The Tone:
This is a paid internship at Walmart, located in Bellevue, WA. • Mission: To gain hands-on experience and support the pharmacy team’s goals by contributing to patient care, processing orders, and ensuring the success of the company in a community pharmacy environment.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Confidentiality Assurance: Ensure the strict confidentiality of all sensitive information, essential documentation, and assigned patient records, meticulously adhering to Company policies and all applicable local, State, and Federal guidelines.
• Order Processing Assistance: Provide critical support by assisting the pharmacy team with the accurate and efficient processing of both prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) orders and related purchases.
• Patient Care Advocacy: Actively deliver patient care by recognizing individual patient needs, comprehensively assessing their health situations, and providing guidance to help them navigate various clinical therapies effectively.
• Supply Chain Management: Efficiently receive and accurately stock incoming merchandise and vital supplies from various distribution centers and external suppliers.
• Pharmacy Area Operations: Actively manage inventory levels to ensure proper stock rotation and availability, while diligently maintaining the overall organization, safety, and cleanliness of the pharmacy area.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently enrolled in good standing at an accredited Pharmacy school.
• Experience: Demonstrated proficiency in the principles of pharmaceutical care and the practical ability to implement best practices effectively within a community pharmacy setting.
• Skills: Excellent ability to foster positive and productive relationships with both customers and the broader pharmacy team; proven capability to understand and cater to the individual and unique needs of diverse patients; unwavering commitment to meticulously following all HIPAA and PHI guidelines for patient privacy; and enthusiasm for participating actively in community activities, outreach programs, and local events.
• Bonus: Possession of a Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification is preferred.
