This role is crucial for significantly impacting students’ academic success and understanding, helping them achieve their learning goals and fostering a passion for learning in Pre-Calculus.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Instruct: Provide personalized 1-on-1 online tutoring and respond to instant tutoring requests for Pre-Calculus students.
• Deliver Content: Guide students through advanced functions (polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric), analytic geometry including conic sections, parametric and polar equations, vectors, matrices, sequences, series, and limits.
• Facilitate Understanding: Explain function behavior, asymptotes, discontinuities, and emphasize mathematical reasoning by connecting Pre-Calculus to real-world applications in optimization, physics, and computer science.
• Adapt Instruction: Adapt teaching methods using graphing technology, visual representations, and scaffolded problems to bridge algebra and trigonometry knowledge for calculus readiness.
• Prepare Students: Prepare students effectively for calculus concepts, AP examinations, and college placement.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Deep knowledge of advanced functions, analytic geometry including conic sections, parametric and polar equations, vectors, matrices, sequences and series, and limits.
• Experience: Skilled at analyzing function composition, inverses, and transformations step-by-step; guiding students through graphing complex functions, solving trigonometric equations, and working with vectors and matrices; familiar with precalculus curricula and common challenges like rational function graphing and limit concepts.
• Skills: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles, strong communication skills, and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
