This is a role supporting a confidential organization. This position provides administrative and legal support to attorneys within the Labor & Employment practice group. The Legal Assistant plays a critical role in supporting attorneys, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with legal procedures and firm policies. This work facilitates the timely delivery of legal services.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Preparation & Filing: Prepare, format, proofread, print, scan, convert, and electronically file legal documents such as correspondence, pleadings, and discovery, adhering to federal, state, and local court procedures.
• Client & Matter Management: Perform conflict checks, prepare engagement letters, assist with opening new client matters, and maintain both electronic and paper client files in accordance with firm policies.
• Calendar & Travel Coordination: Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, monitor deadlines, coordinate appointments using Microsoft Outlook, and arrange business travel through approved systems.
• Financial & Administrative Support: Prepare and submit attorney expense reports, assist with attorney billing, time entry, and pre-bill (Proforma) review using legal billing software.
• Collaborative Support & Compliance: Collaborate with other Practice Assistants to provide administrative support across multiple attorneys and practice groups, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to organizational policies and professional standards.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early-Level. High school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate degree, legal studies coursework, or paralegal certificate is preferred. Strong knowledge of legal document preparation, formatting, and filing procedures.
• Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience supporting attorneys in a litigation or Labor & Employment legal environment. Experience preparing court filings and legal documentation is highly desirable, and experience within a law firm or professional legal services organization is preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel; excellent organizational and time management skills; exceptional attention to detail and proofreading ability; strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: Experience supporting Labor & Employment attorneys; familiarity with legal practice management and document management software; experience with legal billing systems such as 3E; knowledge of electronic court filing systems.
