About The Role
We are actively seeking a highly proactive and resourceful PR Intern to become an integral part of our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Research Media Outlets, Journalists, and Editorial Opportunities: Conduct thorough investigations to identify relevant news publications, online portals, broadcast programs, podcasts, and industry-specific blogs. Pinpoint key journalists, editors, and producers whose beats align with our clients’ industries, and uncover potential editorial calendars or special sections that present opportunities for feature stories, guest contributions, or interviews.
- Draft Press Releases, Media Pitches, and Talking Points: Develop clear, concise, and engaging written materials crucial for media outreach. This includes drafting news announcements (press releases), crafting tailored and persuasive emails to journalists (media pitches), and preparing key messages or sound bites for spokespeople (talking points) for interviews or public appearances.
- Assist with Media List Building and Upkeep in CRM Tools: Support the creation and meticulous maintenance of targeted media contact lists using customer relationship management (CRM) software. This involves accurately inputting journalist contact details, noting their specific interests, tracking past interactions, and regularly updating information to ensure data accuracy and relevance.
- Track Press Coverage and Compile Client Reports: Systematically monitor and collect all mentions and articles featuring our clients across various media channels. This includes searching news sites, social media, and industry publications. Subsequently, you will assist in compiling comprehensive reports that summarize coverage, analyze its sentiment, and highlight key placements for client review.
- Support Event Planning, Influencer Activations, and Brand Launches: Provide logistical and organizational assistance for various PR initiatives. This could involve researching venues, coordinating invitations, managing RSVPs, preparing promotional materials for events, identifying and engaging with relevant social media influencers for campaigns, and assisting with the rollout strategies for new brand initiatives or product launches.
- Help Brainstorm Creative Story Angles and Campaign Ideas: Contribute actively to internal creative sessions. You will be encouraged to research current trends, analyze competitor activities, and propose innovative and compelling narrative approaches or campaign concepts that can effectively capture media attention and resonate with target audiences.
Qualifications
- Strong Writing and Proofreading Skills: Demonstrated ability to write clearly, concisely, and persuasively. Excellent grammar, punctuation, and attention to detail are paramount for crafting error-free and professional communications.
- Interest in Media, Storytelling, and Brand Building: A genuine curiosity and passion for how news is shaped, how compelling narratives are constructed, and how brands establish and maintain their public identity and reputation.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office: Proficiency in essential office productivity tools, including Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, or Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, for document creation, data management, and communication.
- Organizational Skills with the Ability to Multitask: Excellent ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, meet deadlines, and maintain a structured approach in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter Who Takes Initiative and Adapts Quickly: Proactive mindset with the ability to identify tasks and take action without constant supervision. Must demonstrate flexibility and resilience, quickly adjusting to new challenges, shifting priorities, and evolving project requirements.
