About the Position: Power Systems Study Engineer
Pond is seeking a Power Systems Study Engineer for their Professional Design Group in Peachtree Corners, Georgia. This role requires 3+ years of experience in power system studies and electrical safety scenarios. Familiarity with industry best practices for electrical safety in the workplace and professional design is essential.
Job Responsibilities:
• The successful candidate will be mentored by senior electrical engineers while supporting and leading various electrical safety projects.
• Interface with clients and contribute to proposal development.
• Experience writing Coordination and Arc-Flash Study reports is required.
• Familiarity with NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584, NFPA 70, ANSI C37, and relevant IEC standards is a must.
• Proficiency in preparing time-current curves (TCCs), performing load flow analysis, voltage drop calculations on three-phase systems, and evaluating overcurrent protective devices (OCPDs) for coordination and system suitability.
• Conduct site visits to gather, document, and compile system data.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and quality requirements.
• Contribute to group processes, procedures, and template documents and tools.
Qualifications:
• BS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university.
• 3+ years of experience in Electrical Design or Electrical Study performance – short circuit calculations, and coordination and arc-flash studies (including internship, co-op, or professional experience).
• Proficiency with Power Systems Modeling software, including SKM Powertools (preferred), Easy Power, or ETAP, or other electrical study software.
• EIT certification preferred or anticipated; a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in good standing is a plus.
• Experience as a field electrician is a plus.
• Familiarity with the Whole Building Design Guide is a plus.
• Proficiency with software such as Microsoft Office products and Bluebeam (or Adobe Acrobat).
• Ability to work well in a team environment, possess a positive attitude, multi-task, and be self-motivated to produce high-quality work.
• Ability and desire to learn and grow professionally.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally for project support.
Compensation:
The anticipated salary range for this Electrical Engineer II position is $75,900.00 – $116,000.00, with additional cash incentives and a comprehensive benefits package potentially available.
