Post-Graduate Internal Audit Intern (6 Month Duration) | Mountain America Credit Union
The Tone:
This is a part-time, 6-month internship at Mountain America Credit Union, located in Sandy, UT. Mountain America Credit Union is a financial institution, and this role contributes to its internal audit function, which evaluates internal controls and assesses risks across various business functions. This internship is designed for recent graduates to begin a professional career in Internal Audit, offering a clear path to a Staff Auditor role upon successful certification. Successful interns will be eligible for promotion after completing required certifications.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Execute: Assist in the full-cycle execution of audit and advisory engagements, including planning and fieldwork activities.
• Evaluate: Participate in meetings with stakeholders to document process walkthroughs and assess control design and operating effectiveness.
• Apply: Gain an understanding of the Global Internal Audit Standards and apply these standards in daily work.
• Support: Contribute to risk assessments, issue validation, and audit follow-up activities.
• Improve: Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Internal Audit department and perform other related duties for the team.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Recent bachelor’s or master’s degree graduate in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, Cybersecurity or a related field.
• Experience: Entry-level role for recent graduates with a commitment to obtaining and passing either the CIA or CISA certification within 6 months.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; high attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and excellent problem-solving ability; ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
• Bonus: Preferred GPA of 3.75 or higher.
