Strategic Insights Specialist | Roche

This is a full-time role at Roche, located in Basel, Switzerland. This position is crucial for shaping and running the next generation of Portfolio and Performance monitoring within PT, providing leadership with real-time insights to steer strategic initiatives and operational performance effectively. • Mission: Design and run a lean, AI-enabled system that provides Roche leadership a real-time view of strategic initiative and operational performance progress.

What You’ll Actually Do
• System Design & Maintenance: Design, build, and maintain lean systems for tracking the status, risks, and value of PT’s strategic initiatives and for monitoring delivery against performance promises using KPI frameworks and dashboards.
• Automation & AI Integration: Identify, pilot, and embed AI-enabled tools to automate data collection, reporting, and insight generation, thereby reducing manual effort and increasing speed and accuracy.
• Cross-functional Engagement: Act as an ambassador to build and energize a network of contributors and champions across Operations, ensuring data quality and broad adoption of the monitoring system.
• Process Optimization: Continuously assess the maturity of existing monitoring processes, removing complexity and standardizing where it adds value without overengineering.
• Strategic Insight Delivery: Translate system data into clear, actionable insights, compelling visual stories, and concise updates for PT leadership and stakeholders, supporting regular governance rhythms for key decisions.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Master’s Degree in Engineering, Life Science, Business Administration, Data/Analytics, or related fields.
• Experience: 2-5 years of experience in business analytics, operations, PMO, or performance management, ideally within the pharma, life science, or a related industry.
• Skills: Hands-on experience with data visualization or Business Intelligence tools, a lean mindset (simplifying before automating), strong communication and visual storytelling abilities, capable of building and energizing a community, high attention to detail balanced with pragmatism, and deep curiosity for new AI and digital tools.
• Bonus: Site experience, familiarity or certification in Lean and Project Management, exposure to or strong interest in AI and automation tools applied to reporting and process design, and experience working in a complex organization with multiple stakeholders and established governance cadences.
