About the Role:

A4AL is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Political Campaign Intern / Political Strategy Intern to contribute significantly to our fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This volunteer position offers a unique opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in political fundraising, nonprofit development, and donor relations within a mission-driven organization. Working directly under the guidance of our leadership team, this role is ideal for individuals eager to understand the strategic and operational backbone of government relations and advocacy support behind the scenes. Key Responsibilities:

As a Political Campaign Intern / Political Strategy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in political fundraising and nonprofit development while supporting our donor engagement strategy. Under the guidance of our leadership team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Donor Research & Analysis: Conduct thorough research on prospective donors and analyze existing donor data from similar organizations to identify new opportunities.
  • Donor Profile Creation: Develop comprehensive donor profiles to inform and enhance our overall fundraising strategy.
  • Direct Donor Outreach: Engage with potential and existing donors through phone and email to solicit contributions, articulate our mission, and build relationships.
  • Database Management: Maintain and regularly update the donor database, accurately tracking individual giving histories and contact information.
  • Communication Support: Assist in drafting compelling donor communications, including outreach emails, thank-you letters, and acknowledgment letters.
  • Reporting & Tracking: Prepare weekly reports detailing donor outreach activities, fundraising progress, and campaign performance.
  • Event Coordination: Provide essential support for the planning and day-of operations of various virtual and in-person events, from logistical setup to attendee engagement.
  • Administrative & Logistical Support: Offer general assistance with logistical, administrative, and research-related tasks as required to ensure smooth organizational operations.
