Job Description: Plant Startup and Services Intern

This is an internship opportunity within the Plant Startup and Services department at NuScale.

Position Summary:
The intern will focus on the development of plant services, with a primary emphasis on business plans. Other duties may be assigned by the VP of Regulatory Affairs and Services. General tasks include researching document repositories and preparing reports and databases.

Pay:
Undergraduate Interns: $25.00 per hour.
Graduate Interns: $30.00 per hour.

Eligibility:
To be eligible, students must be:
• Enrolled in an accredited, 4-year undergraduate degree program at a Junior or Senior standing, OR
• Pursuing an advanced degree (graduate program).
• Must be currently eligible to work in the United States per 10 CFR Part 810 rules.
• NuScale is unable to consider students authorized to work on F-1 or M-1 Visas due to compliance with government approved authorizations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist in the development and evaluation of service offerings and solutions for nuclear power plants.
• Conduct research on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to nuclear plant operations and maintenance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and develop innovative solutions.
• Present findings and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of project progress and results.
• Communicate with Plant Services Team members and engineering staff for Plant Services document review and comment resolution.
• Utilize software including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, document management, and document storage.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Skills, Qualifications, and Abilities:
Education: Must be currently enrolled in a 4-year accredited undergraduate (Junior or Senior standing) or graduate program in Business or Finance.
Experience: Must possess a solid understanding of business and finance principles and theories. Required to demonstrate strong aptitude in technical writing, good communication, computer, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple document platforms, producing consistent, detailed, and error-free output are essential.
Industry Requirements: Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 rules.

Physical Demands:
The role requires:
• Ability to understand and communicate clearly via phone, in-person interaction, and computers.
• Ability to learn new job functions and quickly comprehend new concepts, applying them accurately in a rapidly evolving environment.
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, using hands for office equipment, and reaching with hands and arms.
• Ability to travel nationally and locally using common forms of transportation.
