The City of Highland Park is seeking a Planning & Management Analyst Intern (Part-Time). This is an entry-level role designed to provide hands-on experience in city planning.
Job Description:
The Planning Intern will perform various tasks related to land use regulation, program administration, and development services. This includes:
• Assisting with research and data collection for planning projects.
• Analyzing data and preparing reports related to land use, demographics, and development trends.
• Reviewing development proposals for compliance with zoning regulations and comprehensive plans.
• Assisting with the preparation of planning documents, such as zoning ordinances, comprehensive plans, and specific area plans.
• Providing support to senior planning staff in the administration of planning programs and projects.
• Responding to inquiries from the public regarding planning and zoning regulations.
• Attending meetings and participating in community outreach efforts.
• Gaining valuable insight into municipal planning processes and career pathways through mentorship from senior staff.
This internship is ideal for current students or recent graduates in urban planning or a related field who are looking to apply their classroom knowledge in a practical setting.
Part-Time: 20 hours per week (max 999 hours per year), no benefits.
