Job Description

Job Title: Physical Therapist (Implied)

Overview: The role involves performing objective assessments and developing comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. The successful candidate will operate under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and adhere to departmental policies and procedures regarding referrals and treatment standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct objective assessments for adult and geriatric patients to determine their physical therapy needs.
• Design and implement comprehensive individualized treatment programs tailored to the specific needs of adult and geriatric patients.
• Provide direct supervision to patients during therapy sessions.
• Offer indirect supervision to rehabilitation technicians, guiding their work as needed.
• Provide general supervision to Physical Therapy assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts, ensuring compliance and quality of care.
• Perform all duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and service standards.

Reporting Structure: The position reports directly to Therapy Leadership.

Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients.

Qualifications:

Education:
• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy, OR
• Master of Science in Physical Therapy, OR
• Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
Licensure:
• Current or Temporary license as a Physical Therapist in the state of practice.
Certifications:
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• All required certifications must be current before the individual is assigned to care for patients independently.
