About the Internship

This 10-12 week internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the crucial area of Physical Security within a dynamic aerospace company. The intern will gain hands-on experience working directly with the Physical Security team, interpreting government policy, developing instructions, and implementing critical security processes. This position provides broad exposure across various security disciplines and other key departments, fostering a comprehensive understanding of corporate security operations in a national security context.

Key Responsibilities and Learning Opportunities

During the internship, you will have the chance to:

• Assist in the implementation of security processes and the development of operational instructions.
• Interpret and apply government security policies to create and refine internal procedures.
• Manage facility controls and support the integration of security processes within departmental databases.
• Conduct simple security operations briefings for small groups.
• Execute security badging operations for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Perform essential data entry, validation, and record checks across government and local systems.
• Ensure compliance with both corporate and government security policies.
• Collaborate with multiple security disciplines, including physical, program, and personnel security, as well as departments such as Corporate Security, Contracts, Trade Compliance, Learning & Development, and the Uniformed Security team.

Work Environment & Logistics

• Location: This position is 100% onsite at one of the listed facility options.
• Shift: This is a 1st shift position.
• Relocation: Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
• Safety Sensitive: This is not a Safety Sensitive Position.

Critical Requirements & Compliance

Due to the nature of our work in national security space and access to facilities requiring special clearances, specific eligibility criteria must be met:

• U.S. Citizenship: Applicants MUST be U.S. citizens. This position is located at a facility that requires special access, and U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
• Export Control: This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, necessitating eligibility as a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 (U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee). Note: The U.S. Citizenship requirement supersedes the general U.S. Person requirement for this specific role.
• Security Clearance: While this specific intern position does not require an active security clearance, candidates must be eligible for a security clearance and willing to apply for and maintain one if future roles within the company require it.
• Visa Sponsorship: Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.
• Conflict of Interest: Successful candidates must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Behavioral & Social Science, Criminal Justice, Risk Management, Business Administration, or another related field.
• Basic understanding of safety, security, and risk management principles in a public or corporate setting.
• Demonstrated strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and confidently in one-on-one discussions, small group meetings, and small audience briefings.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

• Strong academic performance (a GPA of 3.0 or above is preferred).
• Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills, evidenced through leadership positions in teams and/or student or civic organizations.
• Strong technical experiences as demonstrated through technical projects, research, or engineering internships.
• Exceptional communication skills and a genuine interest and enthusiasm related to engineering, aerospace, and a career with Boeing.
• Junior or Senior class standing.

• Pay Range: $21.15 /hr – $38.46 (Pay is based upon candidate experience, qualifications, and market/business considerations).
