Job Title: PhD Data Visualization Intern

Overview: Epsilon is seeking a highly motivated PhD Data Visualization Intern to join its Data Science Visual Analytics Team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the creation of effective visualization tools that translate complex marketing data into actionable business insights. You will be instrumental in a rich environment where answers to intricate business questions are hidden within petabytes of data, spanning hundreds of millions of detailed profiles across countless websites and apps.

How You’ll Make an Impact

As a Data Visualization Intern, you will be a vital team member in creating effective visualization tools. These tools will leverage marketing data to answer critical business questions in an engaging, intuitive, and informative manner. You’ll tackle visualization challenges involving:

• Hundreds of millions of detailed profiles.
• Hundreds of millions of websites and apps.
• Sophisticated real-time analytics making near-instantaneous messaging decisions billions of times daily.

This rich environment provides a unique opportunity to uncover answers hidden within petabytes of data.

Epsilon’s PhD Internship Program

This is a formal 12-week summer program designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of digital marketing and Epsilon’s personalization platform. Key components of the program include:

• Undertaking a research project addressing a specific technology or business challenge.
• Applying your visualization expertise practically to real-world problems.
• Receiving dedicated mentorship and feedback to successfully implement your research project.

Who You Are

What you’ll bring with you:

• Currently enrolled in a PhD program with relevant coursework, research, and background in data visualization and/or visual analytics.
• Proficient knowledge and practical exposure to data visualization concepts and software.
• Ability to translate complex data sets into clear, visually compelling insights.
• Demonstrated expertise in JavaScript or TypeScript development.
• Hands-on experience with modern web technologies such as React, D3.js, WebGL, or Three.js.

Base Salary: $55.00 – $60.00/hour

Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon, but not limited to the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location and application employment laws. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
