This role is essential for supporting the pharmacy staff in delivering outstanding pharmaceutical care and achieving business outcomes, ensuring customers receive accurate and timely prescription services.

The TL;DR

• Team: Works under the direct supervision of pharmacists within the pharmacy department.
• Mission: To actively assist pharmacists in filling new, refill, and transfer prescriptions while upholding legal and ethical standards to ensure outstanding pharmaceutical care.
• Tech Stack: Pharmacy register, computer software, voice messaging system

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Collaborate with all pharmacy staff to achieve outstanding pharmaceutical care and business outcomes.
• Assist: Aid the pharmacist, under direct supervision, with accurately filling new, refill, and transfer prescriptions in accordance with current laws and company policies.
• Service: Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer focus, engaging with customers in person and over the telephone.
• Operate: Thoroughly understand and operate the pharmacy register, computer software, and voice messaging system.
• Manage: Handle third-party prescription information, resolve rejected claims, initiate prescription renewal requests, and participate in inventory control procedures.

The Must-Haves
• Background: State-Specific Pharmacy Intern License; Entry-level position requiring core domain knowledge in pharmacy practice.
• Experience: No specific years of experience required; demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Skills: Strong keyboard skills and ability to learn new software applications; effective time management and problem-solving skills; attention to detail for clerical accuracy; mathematical skills for operating a cash register.
• Bonus: Excellent communication and customer service skills; open schedule availability including nights, weekends, and holidays; ability to work with minimal supervision; high levels of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality; willingness to promote and participate in initiatives to grow the pharmacy business.
