Job Description:
The Pharmacy Intern role at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue supports the delivery of pharmaceutical services. Pharmacy Interns assist with tasks such as IV room preparation, ADC replenishment, and outpatient prescription support. They are supervised directly by licensed Pharmacists and contribute to patient care quality and operational efficiency. Interns are placed based on service needs and academic schedules, offering support across inpatient and outpatient settings, including weekends and evenings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in IV room preparation.
• Contribute to ADC (Automated Dispensing Cabinet) replenishment.
• Support outpatient prescription processes.
• Work under the direct supervision of licensed Pharmacists.
• Contribute to maintaining patient care quality.
• Support operational efficiency in the pharmacy.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Graduates and undergraduates of a College of Pharmacy in the United States must secure a New York State Pharmacy Intern Permit to be eligible.
• A minimum of six months of supervised training is required for admission to the full Pharmacist licensing examination. The six months may be completed as follows:
• Up to three months in each of the summers preceding the final and the next to final years of a professional curriculum in Pharmacy.
• Any portion or all of the internship may be completed subsequent to graduation from a registered program in Pharmacy, or its equivalent.
• Graduates from a College of Pharmacy in a foreign country must secure a New York State Pharmacy Intern Permit to be eligible.
• A minimum of one year of supervised training is required for admission to the full pharmacist licensing examination.
