Job Description:
The Pharmacy Intern position (MH: Pharmacy – Unscheduled, Varied Shift) is designed for individuals currently enrolled in a Pharmacy School to learn and develop a working knowledge of pharmacology under close supervision. The intern will perform pharmacy duties alongside technicians and pharmacists.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform pharmacy duties as assigned, working with technicians and pharmacists.
• Learn and develop a working knowledge of pharmacology.
• Perform other duties as needed.
Education and Experience:
• Currently enrolled in a Pharmacy School (required).
• No prior experience is required.
Knowledge and Skills:
• Legibility and Communication: Able to write legibly and speak effectively.
• Technical Skills: Able to assemble, troubleshoot, and calibrate patient care equipment and perform technical age-specific patient care activities.
• Computer Skills: Able to use computer and software programs necessary for the position.
• Interpersonal Skills: Able to communicate effectively and professionally, be assertive, follow policies, remain calm under pressure, collaborate, and accept direction.
• Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone.
• Mathematical Skills: Able to perform basic math functions essential to the position.
• Critical Thinking: Able to think critically, organize and prioritize workload, manage multiple assignments, work well under pressure, and problem-solve.
• Attention to Detail: Able to recall information, pay close attention to detail, and document legibly.
• Sensory Skills: Able to distinguish colors and smells, hear sufficiently for conversation, identify sounds, see adequately to read computer screens and documents, and discern temperature variances through touch.
Licensures and Certifications:
• California Pharmacy Internship License (required).
