Job Description: People Analytics Intern

The Kroger Fall Internship Program is a 15-week immersive experience offering students the chance to grow their careers through focused internship assignments. The program runs from August 19th to December 6th and offers competitive pay, hands-on learning, exposure to senior leaders, and professional development opportunities.

As a People Analytics Intern, you will play a crucial role in driving HR analytics and reporting initiatives across all lines of business and corporate functions within the General Office. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in developing automated predictive analytics and systematic reporting processes, providing actionable insights to company leaders. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in workforce analytics while contributing to the company’s strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

Data Gathering & Organization: Assist in gathering and organizing data from various sources, including HR systems, surveys, and performance evaluations.
Data Cleaning & Preparation: Clean and prepare data for analysis, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Statistical Analysis & Data Mining: Conduct statistical analysis and data mining to identify trends, patterns, and insights related to employee performance, turnover, and engagement.
KPI Development & Refinement: Collaborate with HR business partners to develop and refine key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for evaluating workforce effectiveness.
Survey & Assessment Design: Support the design and implementation of surveys and assessments to measure employee satisfaction, engagement, and organizational culture.
Visualization & Communication: Prepare visualizations, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Ad-hoc Analysis & Research: Assist in conducting ad-hoc analysis and research projects as needed to support strategic HR initiatives.
Staying Current: Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in people analytics and HR technology.

Qualifications:

Education: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
Technical Skills: Strong analytical skills with experience in data manipulation, statistical analysis, and data visualization (proficiency in tools such as Excel, R, Python, SQL, and Power BI).
Data Handling: Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.
HR Knowledge: Solid understanding of HR concepts and principles, with a passion for applying analytics to solve real-world business challenges.
Communication & Collaboration: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Proactive & Driven: Proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative and drive projects forward in a fast-paced environment.
Experience (Plus): Prior internship or coursework in HR analytics, organizational psychology, or data analysis is a plus.
