Job Description: Pension Outsourcing Intern

The Pension Outsourcing Intern role at WTW is an opportunity for current college students to gain hands-on experience in the pension outsourcing sector. The intern will primarily perform recurring plan administration services for clients’ defined benefit plans under the guidance of senior team members, and will also assist with project work and other ad hoc client support.

Key Responsibilities and Objectives:
Learning & Development: Gain a comprehensive understanding of pension plan administration and design through instructor-led training, self-study, and on-the-job experiences.
Routine Administration: Perform regular and recurring plan administration tasks for defined benefit plans, such as calculating benefits, assisting with annual data updates, and preparing benefit statements, with guidance from internal teams.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members, including WTW plan administrators and actuaries, to complete tasks, manage special projects, and ensure a unified delivery of services to clients.
Quality and Efficiency: Learn and apply Excellence tools and concepts to ensure high-quality output and efficient service delivery.
Compliance: Adhere strictly to plan documents and government regulations during plan administration.
Active Participation: Actively engage in team meetings and training activities.
Accountability: Be accountable to team members for assigned tasks and contributions.

Qualifications:
Education: Must be a current college student (at least a junior). Preference for majors with a strong emphasis on mathematics, statistics, finance, or other significant quantitative coursework. A minimum overall GPA of 3.0 is required.
Graduation Timeline: Accepting applications from candidates planning to graduate with a bachelor’s or master’s degree between December 2026 through June 2027.
Skills:
Solid mathematical and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated strong technical and/or client service (management) skills through work experience.
• A passion for problem-solving and a desire to exceed client standards.
• Ability to be a self-starter and work independently, while also being cooperative in a close team environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
Location: This is a hybrid role, requiring a mix of remote and in-office work. Candidates must be within commutable distance to one of WTW’s Pension Outsourcing office locations: Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Minneapolis, or Philadelphia.

Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly Compensation: $20-$22/hour USD, eligible for overtime.
Company Benefits: Includes a Contributory Pension Plan and a Savings Plan (401k).
Work Flexibility: The WTW Work Flex model offers flexibility in working arrangements (hybrid).
