2027 Tax Winter Intern – Private Client Services (PCS) | EisnerAmper

The Tone:
This is a full-time winter internship at EisnerAmper, located in Elgin, IL, with a hybrid work model. EisnerAmper is a large accounting, tax, and business advisory firm, with nearly 4,700 employees and over 470 partners globally. This role is crucial for individuals pursuing accounting degrees to gain practical experience in financial statement preparation, compilations, reviews, and tax return procedures, contributing to the firm’s Private Client Services team and supporting client financial objectives.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Understand: Learn the process of preparing financial statements.
• Conduct: Perform learning activities related to financial compilations.
• Conduct: Perform learning activities related to financial reviews.
• Grasp: Learn the preparation procedures for federal income tax returns.
• Grasp: Learn the preparation procedures for state income tax returns.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level professional currently pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in accounting or an equivalent program from an accredited institution.
• Experience: 0-2 years of recent public accounting experience. Availability to work 40+ hours per week during business hours (Monday – Friday; 8:30 am – 5:30 pm) in a hybrid setting, within commutable distance to the assigned office. Must complete the entire Winter Internship Program starting in early January 2027 and be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word. Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills. Strong work ethic, with the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical capabilities.
• Bonus: Pursuing minimum educational requirements for CPA licensure in the state of the assigned office. Pursuing 150 academic credits or a master’s degree in accounting, or an equivalent program. Final graduation date between December 2027 and September 2028. A strong academic track record with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
