Payroll Specialist
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team in a hybrid role based in Bradenton, FL. The ideal candidate will have experience managing multi-state payroll for a large employee population (2,000–7,000 employees) and strong knowledge of payroll tax compliance. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and review multi-state payroll for 2,000–8,000 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, including timely tax filings and reconciliations.
- Review payroll reports, identify discrepancies, and resolve payroll-related issues.
- Process off-cycle payrolls, bonuses, commissions, and adjustments as needed.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure proper documentation for audits and internal controls.
- Partner with HR and Finance to ensure accurate employee data, including new hires, terminations, and compensation changes.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and provide excellent internal customer service.
- Support year-end payroll activities including W-2 preparation and reconciliation.
- Assist with payroll audits, reporting, and process improvements.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Experience processing multi-state payroll for large employee populations (2,000–8,000 employees).
- Strong understanding of payroll tax laws, compliance, and reporting.
- Proficiency in Excel and payroll reporting.
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
