Job Description
This role is for an individual providing direct patient care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
Role Purpose:
To provide multi-skilled, direct patient care, under the direction and supervision of a registered professional nurse. This position requires the completion of a foundational nursing skills course or its equivalent (such as fundamentals, foundations, or adult/pediatric health).
Responsibilities:
• Assists nurses with patient and family education.
• Documents all provided patient care activities accurately, using correct medical terminology.
• Acts as a 1:1 patient safety sitter when necessary.
• Ensures the availability of necessary supplies and equipment to meet each patient’s individual needs.
• Implements direct patient care as directed by and under the supervision of the nursing team.
• Collects clinical data and information on patients, and promptly reports any abnormal findings to the nurse.
• Instructs patients in preparations required for tests and procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
• Education: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited RN program.
• Clinical Experience: Must have completed one (1) semester of a fundamental medical/surgical clinical.
• Experience: No prior experience is required.
• Supervisor Experience: No prior supervisor experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) program.
Additional Information About The Role (Schedule & Rotation):
• Shift Frequency: A minimum of 2 shifts must be worked every six weeks.
• Shift Type: Rotating shifts.
• Shift Hours:
• Days: 7 am – 7 pm
• Nights: 7 pm – 7 am
• Rotation Requirements: Includes Holiday Rotation and Weekend Rotation.
