About the Job:
The Pastoral Care Intern position at UNC REX Healthcare is a one-year internship program that provides pastoral care and counseling to patients and families. The intern will work under the supervision of a chaplain and will have the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of clinical settings, including the hospital, hospice, and nursing home.
Responsibilities:
• Provide pastoral care and counseling to patients and families
• Participate in the ministry of the department through the overnight on-call schedule
• Lead worship services in the hospital
• Participate in the clinical pastoral education training process
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Ordination and ecclesiastical endorsement from denomination/faith group preferred but not required
• One to three months related experience and/or training
