Job Description: Part-Time Associate (Produce)
This is a part-time position within the Store Operations Team at the Arroyo Grande, CA location. The Part-Time Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining a well-stocked and fresh produce section, and contributing to a positive shopping experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Stocking and Maintenance: Maintain the produce section, including ordering, receiving, and stocking merchandise using proper equipment. Ensure proper pricing and rotation of products, check date codes, stock shelves, displays, and refrigerated/frozen cases. Prepare perishable products for sale.
• Merchandising: Set up advertising/promotional displays.
• Inventory Management: Review invoices/bills for accuracy.
• Cleanliness: Clean and maintain sanitation standards in all interior and exterior areas of the store and parking lot.
• Customer Service: Operate a cash register, receive payments, make change, and process check/charge/debit transactions. Process refunds as approved. Verify customer eligibility when selling alcoholic beverages. Provide friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous assistance to customers by providing them with current store and product information.
• Assistance: Load customer purchases by assisting customers to their vehicles when requested.
• Bookkeeping: Perform basic bookkeeping duties, including recording lost/damaged goods and store supplies.
Required Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to read and write English, and interact with the general public and coworkers.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information to customers and employees.
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
Preferred Skills:
• Basic PC/Outlook skills
