Responsibilities:

Program Highlights & Responsibilities

  • Meet and network with other college interns and park leaders.
  • Gain first-hand knowledge and experience working directly in the field in an operations leadership position.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all Operations training records, inspections, and any other relevant documents.
  • Get valuable opportunities to meet, engage, and learn from park leaders and management.
  • Opportunity to shadow and interact with park Directors and Park President.
  • Opportunity to participate in a “Capstone Presentation” related to improving an aspect of the park/resort operation.
  • Opportunity to learn from leaders at our hotel & indoor waterpark operation.
  • Accurately monitors and responds to radio traffic as the dispatcher for the Operations Division.
  • Dispatches units as necessary and coordinates radio traffic in the case of an emergency.
  • Assists with the administering of certification tests for Ride Operations trainees.
  • Ensures proper record keeping and filing of legal documents.
  • Tracks and logs park attendance in coordination with the Admissions department.
  • Sends communications routinely to park management with information on park attendance, ride uptime and ridership.
  • Ensures the proper tracking of ride downtime incidents and real-time logging of wait times via guest-facing systems.
  • Perform duties as a Team Member when necessary, including but not limited to operating rides.
  • Practices, supports, maintains and enforces a total safety culture for all Leads and Team Members.
  • Assist other Team Members and Departments to support the resort as a whole.

Qualifications:

What You Will Need

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must be currently pursuing a college degree or a recent graduate (within 180 days of the start of employment at Six Flags Great Escape).
  • A team-player attitude and the willingness to step in wherever it is needed to support the park operation or assist Guests.
  • Commit to working through the 2026 summer operating season (mid-May through mid-August).
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends, nights and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Ability and comfort working in an indoor and outdoor environment (rain, heat, winds, etc.).
  • Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and reach throughout your shift.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of leadership and a willingness to learn and develop.
  • A safety-first attitude.
