Workers’ Compensation Paralegal | Villamar Law Group PLLC

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Villamar Law Group PLLC, located in Queens, NY. As a workers’ compensation law firm, we are dedicated to representing clients and navigating the complexities of their claims effectively. This role is critical in ensuring our clients receive consistent support, clear communication, and timely management of their legal matters, directly impacting their well-being and case progression.

• Mission: This role ensures effective client communication, meticulous case management, and timely follow-up on critical aspects of workers’ compensation claims.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Communication: Manage a heavy volume of client communications, delivering outstanding customer service and clearly explaining detailed legal issues to clients.
• Case Evaluation & Follow-up: Conduct periodic file reviews, evaluate the current status of cases, and diligently follow up on carrier payments to ensure client benefits are received.
• Medical Care Coordination: Coordinate client medical care, determine the status of client treatment, and proactively follow up on medical requests with doctor’s offices.
• External Liaison & Correspondence: Maintain consistent contact with claims adjusters and draft comprehensive correspondence to all appropriate parties involved in a case.
• Administrative Filing: Accurately prepare and file all necessary fee applications in a timely manner.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Paralegal with core domain knowledge in Workers’ Compensation law.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working at a busy workers’ compensation law firm.
• Skills:
* Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
* Exceptional client communication, customer service, and telephone skills, capable of handling heavy call volumes.
* Supreme organizational abilities, including priority setting and effective time management for multi-tasking.
* Proven ability to work independently with accuracy in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively across all levels.
* Professionalism and dependability, with the ability to work well with an assistant.
