What You’ll Actually Do
• Case Management: Provide essential support to attorneys throughout all phases of litigation and comprehensive case management, ensuring a smooth legal process.
• Document Creation: Draft and prepare critical legal documents, including case reports, detailed summaries, and other legal documentation, customized for specific case requirements.
• Legal Correspondence & Motions: Formulate professional correspondence and prepare basic legal motions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards.
• Scheduling & Coordination: Efficiently schedule a variety of legal proceedings such as prehearing conferences, formal hearings, and settlement conferences, alongside coordinating independent medical examinations and other crucial appointments.
• Record Organization: Meticulously organize physical and digital file materials and systematically index voluminous medical records, ensuring chronological order and easy accessibility for attorneys.
• Deadline Management: Proactively manage the firm’s docketing and calendaring systems to accurately track and ensure compliance with all critical litigation deadlines and significant events.
• Attorney Communication: Maintain proactive and clear communication with supervising attorneys, providing regular updates on task statuses and case progress to ensure alignment and timely action.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates should possess a strong foundational understanding of legal procedures, with prior experience specifically in workers’ compensation defense highly preferred.
• Experience: Demonstrated mastery of core office software is required, specifically Microsoft Office (including Word) and Adobe Acrobat, for efficient document handling and communication.
• Skills: Possess exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks. Exhibit superb verbal and written communication skills, including flawless grammar and spelling, for professional interactions and document preparation. Demonstrate resilience and the ability to thrive under pressure, effectively multitasking within a high-volume litigation environment.
• Bonus: Experience utilizing specialized legal tech and case management billing tools such as Centerbase and NetDocs is considered beneficial. While not strictly required, a Bachelor’s degree or a Paralegal Certificate is preferred, indicating a commitment to the paralegal profession.
