Paralegal Support Services Specialist | Kahana Feld
The Tone:
This is a full-time, non-exempt role at Kahana Feld, a law firm providing legal services across multiple practice groups. The firm seeks a highly adaptable and experienced paralegal to ensure seamless legal support and continuity across departments. This critical position is responsible for managing various paralegal duties, covering absences, assisting with overflow, and acting as a central resource for urgent requests, ensuring uninterrupted client service and adherence to deadlines.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Administer case progression by scheduling appointments, hearings, and deadlines, organizing files, and managing logistics for various legal matters.
• Draft, edit, and manage legal documents including pleadings, discovery, and correspondence, and assist with legal research, cite-checking, and document review.
• Coordinate and track filings with state and federal courts, demonstrating proficiency with electronic filing processes and maintaining knowledge of civil procedures and court rules.
• Provide critical paralegal coverage by responding to urgent “Paralegal Triage” requests, seamlessly stepping into active cases during planned or unplanned absences, and ensuring adherence to deadlines.
• Support legal teams during high-demand periods and trials, assisting with preparation, logistics, exhibit and witness binders, evidence tracking, and providing in-office or on-site support as required.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Experienced professional with 5+ years of paralegal experience in a law firm setting. Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent legal environment experience. JD degree is a plus.
• Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with all stages of litigation, including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial procedures. Litigation and insurance defense experience preferred; prior experience in multiple practice areas is a strong plus.
• Skills: Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively across multiple teams, strong organizational and multitasking skills, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with legal software.
• Bonus: Comfortable in fast-paced and high-pressure environments, especially around trial deadlines.
