Paralegal – Real Estate | Holland & Knight LLP

This role is crucial for assisting attorneys and practice groups with real estate financing, acquisitions, and development projects, ensuring efficient transaction processes and accurate legal documentation.

• Mission: Assist attorneys and practice groups in real estate financing, acquisitions, and development projects by preparing legal documents, conducting research, and managing transaction processes.
• Tech Stack: real estate document management systems, electronic closing platforms (preferred)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Management: Organize and index critical documents from various sources for real estate transactions.
• Document Preparation: Draft and prepare comprehensive real estate closing documents, including loan agreements, mortgages, deeds, and title documents.
• Title Review: Execute thorough title searches and analyze title commitments and surveys.
• Due Diligence: Support due diligence processes for real estate acquisitions and development projects.
• Closing Coordination: Facilitate closings by coordinating effectively with lenders, title companies, and other parties.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree with a significant focus on real estate transactions, particularly in financing, acquisitions, and development.
• Experience: 5 – 10 years of experience as a paralegal with a strong background in real estate transactions and experience with real estate document management systems.
• Skills: Organizational skills for independent work and meeting deadlines, clear communication with internal staff, attorneys, and external clients, analytical and critical thinking for daily decision-making, and proficiency in real estate terminology and transaction procedures.
• Bonus: Paralegal certification, experience with commercial real estate transactions, familiarity with ALTA surveys and title policies, and experience with electronic closing platforms.
