Paralegal | SmartStop Self Storage

This is a full-time, on-site Paralegal role at SmartStop Self Storage, located in Ladera Ranch, CA. This position is vital for supporting the legal team by providing essential complex clerical and research support, contributing to the smooth operation of legal affairs within a rapidly expanding organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Coordination: Coordinate legal matters, schedules, and communications with attorneys and other professionals.
• Agreements: Facilitate and manage the execution of a wide range of real estate, commercial, and operational agreements.
• Documents: Prepare, review, and modify legal documents, including communications, contracts, court filings, and other paperwork.
• Litigation: Aid in managing active litigation and insurance matters, coordinating efforts with internal stakeholders and outside counsel.
• Archiving: Oversee the organization, archiving, storage, and retrieval of all legal documents and files in compliance with retention policies.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate’s degree required, with a focus on legal support functions.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of legal secretary experience, coupled with a solid understanding of legal principles.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, strong organizational skills and attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree, a Paralegal certificate, real estate transaction experience, and experience working in high-growth companies.
