This is a full-time, in-office position at a plaintiff-side employment law firm, located in El Segundo. The firm specializes in advocating for employees by managing wage and hour class actions and individual employment law matters. This role is critical for providing essential legal and administrative support to a team of attorneys, directly contributing to efficient case management and effective client representation for those seeking justice in employment disputes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Drafting and Filing: Draft, prepare for filing, and serve a wide range of legal documents for both state and federal court systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with procedural rules.
• Deadline and Appearance Management: Meticulously calendar all critical legal deadlines and coordinate the scheduling of court appearances and court reporters for depositions and hearings, facilitating smooth litigation processes.
• Hearing and Deposition Preparation: Proactively prepare comprehensive hearing binders, ensuring all necessary documentation is organized and ready for attorneys, and support preparations for depositions.
• Client and Case File Maintenance: Systematically maintain and organize both client and case files, ensuring all records are accurate, up-to-date, and readily accessible for ongoing legal proceedings.
• Litigation Support and Case Management: Provide essential support across various stages of case management, assisting attorneys from initial client intake through discovery, trial preparation, and resolution in employment law matters.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates must possess an Associate or Bachelor’s degree. A strong background working within a law firm is essential, coupled with core domain knowledge in plaintiff-side employment law, wage and hour regulations, and/or civil litigation practices, demonstrating a foundational understanding of relevant legal principles.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of direct experience as a paralegal is required. The ideal candidate will bring 2-5 years of demonstrated paralegal experience, preferably in an employment law setting or civil litigation.
• Skills: Absolute fluency and full bilingual capabilities in both Spanish and English are mandatory for this role, enabling effective communication with diverse clients. The successful candidate will be highly organized, reliable, self-motivated, and adaptable. They must demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous learning and exhibit exceptional attention to detail and adherence to deadlines in a high-stakes legal environment.
• Bonus: A paralegal certificate obtained from an ABA approved program is highly preferred. Additionally, specific experience in employment law, wage & hour class actions, and/or broader civil litigation experience is considered a significant asset. Class action experience is also a definite plus.
