Litigation Paralegal | Morgan & Morgan, P.A.

This position plays a key role in the winning fight for consumer rights, contributing to the firm’s mission of “For the People.” The litigation paralegal supports lead attorneys and legal assistants, directly impacting client outcomes.

• Mission: This role supports attorneys in the fight for consumer rights, preparing critical legal documents and managing case logistics to ensure successful outcomes.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare and File Legal Documents: Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, legal memoranda, and appellate documents, then accurately e-file all court documents in both state and federal jurisdictions.
• Manage Discovery Processes: Oversee the full discovery process by preparing responses to interrogatories and other requests, drafting and serving summons, and coordinating and summarizing depositions.
• Organize and Maintain Case Files: Systematically maintain pleadings and discovery indexes, and meticulously organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, appendices, and trial binders for comprehensive case management.
• Conduct Factual and Legal Research: Perform thorough legal research and factual investigations, gathering all necessary and relevant information from diverse sources to build strong case foundations.
• Facilitate Case Communication and Preparation: Facilitate clear communication with clients, courts, and counsel, serve as a liaison between trial teams and external parties, and provide essential support for witness preparation and case settlements.
The Must-Haves
• Background: An Associate’s Degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience, specifically in Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, Premises, First Party, Medical Malpractice, or other injury-related practice areas.
• Experience: At least 2 years of working experience as a litigation paralegal or in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication; keen attention to detail; proficiency in legal document preparation and court e-filing procedures; robust organizational, multitasking, and prioritization abilities; capacity to manage workload independently.
• Bonus: Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program is preferred.
