The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Elanden Advisors, located in Irvine, CA, with hybrid remote/in-office work a possibility for the right candidate. Our client is one of Orange County’s leading plaintiff-side labor and employment law firms, specializing in sensitive areas such as sexual harassment, pregnancy discrimination, disability discrimination, and wage violation cases. This dual-responsibility position is critical for supporting attorneys, staff, and clients throughout all phases of litigation, while also ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the office and supervision of its support staff. The firm measures success not just by monetary results, but primarily through client satisfaction, delivering large-firm caliber representation to individual plaintiffs and small businesses.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare: Prepare and draft a wide range of legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, and motions, meticulously formatting legal citations for state, federal, and appellate courts.
• Manage: Manage litigation and trial calendaring deadlines and procedures, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the requirements in state, federal, and appellate courts.
• Oversee: Oversee the day-to-day activities of office support staff, specifically handling workload distribution, coverage planning, and serving as a key point of escalation for administrative and staffing issues while keeping attorneys informed.
• Coordinate: Coordinate all aspects of office operations, including managing supplies, facilitating vendor coordination, ensuring general office upkeep, and supporting the onboarding of new staff to maintain consistent office procedures and standards.
• File: File documents accurately and promptly in state, federal, and appellate courts, and apply strong organizational skills to manage case files and deadlines across multiple active cases simultaneously.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Paralegal Certificate from an accredited California program, with a thorough understanding of California litigation procedures and the ability to create tables of contents and tables of authority.
• Experience: At least 3 years of litigation paralegal experience in California.
• Skills: Ability to prepare and draft legal documents, strong organizational skills to manage case files and deadlines, proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: Employment litigation background preferred; supervisory or office management experience preferred; comfort balancing hands-on paralegal work with supervisory responsibilities.
