What You’ll Actually Do
• Organize Case Materials: Systematically collect, review, and organize all medical records, billing documentation, and other critical case materials to support a robust litigation strategy, ensuring accurate and accessible case files.
• Draft Legal Documents: Prepare initial drafts of pleadings, comprehensive discovery materials, motions, and various other legal documents for attorney review, facilitating timely and accurate filings.
• Prepare for Court Proceedings: Assemble exhibits, detailed trial notebooks, and hearing packets, along with all other essential materials required for court appearances, and execute electronic court filings.
• Coordinate External Communications: Engage with clients, witnesses, expert consultants, and other external parties to gather necessary information, obtain case updates, and collect required documentation efficiently.
• Manage Case Progression: Monitor crucial court deadlines, filing dates, and key case milestones to ensure that civil matters progress smoothly and on schedule, supporting attorneys from intake through trial preparation.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Mid-level professional bringing at least 3 years of hands-on paralegal experience dedicated to supporting civil litigation matters, complemented by a working knowledge of Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and Texas Rules of Evidence.
• Experience: Demonstrated capability to effectively manage multiple active cases and critical deadlines concurrently within a legal environment, alongside practical experience utilizing Adobe and various electronic filing systems for litigation support.
• Skills: Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, adopting a meticulous, detail-focused approach in all client and team interactions, combined with excellent organizational abilities and close attention to detail in handling legal documents and case materials. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is also required.
• Work Style: Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with attorneys and staff, while also demonstrating the capacity to handle responsibilities and tasks independently when required.
